The players Kildare men's GAA

Client

Kildare Gaa is one of 12 county boards governed by the Leinster provincial council of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for the administration of Gaelic games in County Kildare. The County Board is responsible for preparing the Kildare county teams in the various Gaelic sporting codes; football, hurling and camogie.

Client Requirements

Kildare men’s senior football and hurling teams came to us looking for a solution to their communications needs. They required robust but light two-way radios with excellent earpiece accessories for their management and medical teams, with long-lasting battery life. They needed to ensure that they could hear one another with clarity over the roar of the crowds, through difficult weather conditions, and that range coverage was not compromised whether they were playing at the training ground or at Croke Park; all within their budget.

Our Solution

We assessed the key requirements, tested a number of radio options. We reached the conclusion that licenced radios with Lithium-ion batteries was the optimum solution. The solutions we provided suited both sets of management, and both senior teams have been using Mongey Communications radios for the last four seasons. The radio equipment is hired to both sets of teams. And they manage the distribution of the radios and accessories themselves for training & matchdays. And we are always on hand if any issues ever arise. And we service the radios and equipment also. We are proud and honoured to be able to help and support our county team.

With this solution the user benefits from some assistance while retaining a degree of control over operation and management. This solution is suitable for medium to large scale events.

Grooveyard

Client

Grooveyard are a leading event management company that expertly plan and manage events for some of the world’s leading brands, blending creativity with innovation and flawless delivery.

Client Requirements

Grooveyard, produce the RiverFest festival along the picturesque banks of the river Shannon in Limerick. They needed two-way radios to support their production. The site for the festival was over a large area of the central city, and the signal from standard handheld radios was not powerful enough to reach across the whole of the site. A solution needed to be found that would allow our client to boost the area of coverage.

Our Solution

We carried out site testing to determine which was the best course of action. It was determined that a repeater system would be required, in order to boost the radio signal across the required coverage area. A repeater is an automated radio station that extends the range of two-way radio communications. A high location for a repeater antenna would be required, to provide optimum coverage across the city centre. The roof of the Strand Hotel was the ideal location for us to erect our antenna and to house our repeater system. The hotel granted Grooveyard permission for us to install our repeater system onto their roof. Once we completed our installation, we carried out a series of radio tests, ensuring radio coverage was available to all required locations for the festival. And once we were satisfied that we had achieved our goal, we delivered the handheld radios and accessories to Grooveyard, for them to distribute accordingly. When the festival had reached a successful conclusion, we collected the radio equipment and dismantled the repeater from the roof of the Strand hotel.
